Getting Ready For Our Trip...
Hey everyone!
It's Francesca. Working on some editing of the blog for our (Henk and I) backpacking trip right now, so this is kinda a "test post." Anyways, we just finished booking our around-the-world tickets today. For 3 continents, it was around $5000 per ticket-- not cheap at all. However, considering the tickets all have flexible dates, meaning we can stay as long as we want in each city before moving on, the ticket package is probably worth it. As long as we use the tickets within 12 months from the purchase date (which we will) we can explore each country as much as funds will allow... which I'm a bit concerned about right now.
However, our first destination is Auckland, New Zealand. Probably the best choice since neither Henk nor I need visas to get into the country, plus Henk has already been there so it's familar territory. Still, as soon as my passport comes back from RushPassport (yes, I lost it) we'll be able to apply for "working holiday" visas online and thus earn some cash during our trip by working along the way. Tomorrow will be filled with last minute things to do before we leave on Thursday. I really love New York City, but I can't wait to get out of here!
